Kirby Grines is an entrepreneur, award-winning designer, and recognized thought leader in the OTT video industry.
A former record-label owner, UX designer, web developer, and online marketer, Kirby always had a passion for TV.
Shortly after Netflix spun Roku off as a separate company, Kirby co-founded Float Left Interactive, an app development agency dedicated to building streaming video applications. Float Left became Roku’s first development partner and the company launched over 250 OTT apps for the world’s largest media companies including Viacom, Crackle, AMC Networks, Red Bull, and NBC Sports. As SVP of Corporate Development, Kirby led corporate strategy, sales, business development, marketing, and product strategy. He also designed some of the first Connected TV apps including NBA Gametime 2009-2010 Playoffs Edition, MOG (acquired by Beats, and again by Apple), Popcornflix, and Acorn TV.
In 2016, Kirby was named one of the “Top 50 VOD Professionals in North America” by VOD Professional.
Having launched hundreds of digital products including e-commerce sites, social networks, and OTT apps, Kirby is now focused on helping companies navigate the evolving TV industry and grow their OTT TV and direct-to-consumer products and businesses.
